The Rector We Seek
The congregation of St. Aidan’s is prayerfully seeking a new rector—a spiritual leader who will share in the joys and vibrance of our committed Christian community in northwest Houston, Texas. We are looking for someone who not only embodies faith, caring, leadership, humility and a sense of humor but also brings strong communication skills, executive abilities and a deep commitment to fostering spiritual growth across all generations.
As Bishop Fisher recently said, St. Aidan’s is both “fun and serious,” and we wholeheartedly agree. Established in 2002, St. Aidan’s has steadily grown in membership and spiritual and financial commitment. With 270 active members and a typical Sunday attendance of 140, we may be smaller in size, but we are a powerhouse of faith and service.
Our congregation cherishes families of all kinds. The laughter of children and the enrichment of youth are at the heart of the St. Aidan’s experience. We believe that fostering the faith of the next generation is crucial to our church’s future, and we seek a rector who will be passionate about building this foundation. The new rector will not only embrace members of all ages but will also play a key role in helping us attract and support more families with children.
Working closely with our volunteers for children and youth, the new rector will seek programs and meaningful ministries to engage families, youth and children. Their active involvement in events like Vacation Bible School (VBS) and other family-centered activities will be essential in creating a vibrant, multigenerational church community.
In addition to leading and nurturing our current congregation, the new rector will seek innovative ways to incorporate all ages into the life of the church and will work to expand our membership, reaching out to those in need both within and beyond our doors. They also will help us to expand our faith formation opportunities among all age groups.
The rector will be supported by a dedicated Vestry and committed volunteers, united in the mission to grow together in faith and service.
